Located in Edgeley MSSCC controls the signalling from Adswood road to Macclesfield and to Crewe.

Just at the Manchester side of Stockport viaduct, Heaton Norris is the last signalbox before Manchester Piccadilly Signalling Centre. The signalbox controls the junction for the Denton line.

Photos of Hest Bank LC from the outside only as the signaller on was a moaning bugger and wouldn't allow me in!!

Bare Lane LC is located in Morecambe and controls the line from Morecambe to Hest Bank Junction.

60009 York to ELR 27/07/07

Just through the tunnel from Stockport Edgeley station, Edgeley Junction No2 controls the entrance onto the Northenden Lines

Network Rail have brought one of there new stoneblowers for testing onto the East Lancs Railway.

The signalbox at Blackpool North Station

Buxton Signalbox controls the line from Chapel En Le Frith and the single line going to Briggs sidings and the single line that goes to Great Rocks.

Hazel Grove signalbox is located on the middle of Hazel Grove platform and controls the line from Stockport to Buxton and Chinley and the line from Northenden to Chinley.

Huddersfield panel is located on the platform at Huddersfield.

Manchester North controls the lines that go through Manchester Victoria station. Humourously the signalbox is situated outside Salford Crescent station which it doesn't actually control.

One of our most popular attractions for the children (and big children!) is our Thomas The Tank Weekend, when Thomas and his friends come and visit the railway.

The Baron Street developement also requires the filling of a huge hole at the side of the existing loco works site. This was originally going to be done by way of spoil from the Metrolink but will now be filled by opening the land as hard core landfill. (Sorry for the amount of photo's but it's difficult to show the vast scale of this piece of land!)

6P24 is the headcode of the first trains for the ELR and the metrolink contract these are bringing ballast and on friday the 30th March brought in sleepers.

This train brought some wagons to the ELR for training purposes. They were used to train ELR staff on the use of airbrake's for freight wagons as Carrillion are using ELR staff for shunting whilst on ELR metals.

Baron street is being revamped. The first step is the Metrolink renewal which will leave us with sidings that were'nt there before and hopefully spoil which will fill in the huge void in the land next to the current site

Ramsbottom level crossing is in a dire state and is therefore being redone. The original level crossing was an open top troff for all the rodding, signal wire and cable runs with wooden slats across the top to make the road surface. This is now being replaced with a highly robust alternative and eventually Wig Wags.

At the moment Heywood has very limited signalling mostly done with stop boards and groundframes. Here's the currently signalling at Heywood. The signalling at Heywood will change in the near future due to the Metrolink contract.

Rooted through my old mobile phone and found some good pics of trains. They were mostly taken when I was a train recorder at stockport.

I rooted through my old mobile phone and found some photo's of a tram that had derailed just outside Manchester Piccadilly station. Hilariously it was the only tram in the fleet that had "get our Metrolink back on track" on the side for there campaign for Metrolinks extension. (Sorry about the quality)

What you've all been waiting for. Ramsbotton station has the stantions erected for the new canopy

Due to the Metrolink being relayed between Bury and Manchester the ELR will be used to bring materials on and off Metrolink. the opportunity has been taken to re-signal the Broadfield section to increase capacity and make the job of bringing trains on and off Network Rail.
